Step by Step Guide for Aircel GPRS settings on PC

I recently tried AIRCEL GPRS on my PC.

I didn’t get any information from the Customer Care. But Google is the best friend ….

I got extensive information form below website:

I followed the steps given in it.

How to connect Aircel GPRS to PC (Windows 7) via Bluetooth modem or mobile phone

Get connection:

Step 01: Send a request through an SMS (Send <GPRS>to 121) or call the customer care (121).

Get the settings:

Step 02: After the request they will send u the settings within 24 hours.

Activation:

Step 03: Now e-recharge with Rs 14(three days) or Rs: 98(30 days) .If you have balance, you can activate this service by sending SMS<P14> or <P98> to 57788 .This is a toll free number.

Connecting to Pc :

Step 04: Switch on Bluetooth in your phone and PC.

Step 05: In PC select Phone and Modem in Control Panel and select modems tab.

Step 06: Select Standard Modem over Bluetooth link and click Properties.

Step 07: In Generals tab click Change Settings

Step 08: Click Diagnostics tab and then Query Modem to check whether the modem is working properly.

Step 09: In Advanced tab type the following as Extra initialization command:
If yours is prepaid: AT+CGDCONT=1,”IP”,”aircelgprs.pr”
above did’t work so I changed
from “aircelgprs.pr”  to “aircelgprs”
For post paid: AT+CGDCONT=1,”IP”,”aircelgprs.po”
And then press OK.

Step 10: Open Network and Sharing Center
Click Set up a new connection or network

Step 11: Select Set up a dial up connection and then press Next.

Step 12: Select Standard Modem over Bluetooth link

Step 13: If Aircel GPRS is the default profile type *99# in the Dial-up phone number box  and then press Connect.
If it doesn’t work try the following one after the other:

*99***1#

*99***2#

*99***3#

*99***4# and so on

1,2,3,4 is nothing but the order of Aircel
GPRS profile in your phone’s GPRS account.

 

 

Change the Look-and-Feel (Design) of Lotus Notes 8.5

I upgraded Lotus Notes from 7.5 to 8.5 using ISSI.

Even after upgrading to 8.5, the look-n-feel was quite similar to 7.5.. the advanced option didn’t get applied. especially the menu and online/offline status of Sametime contacts in the “To and CC” lists..

I had been searching on web for “change look and feel of lotus 8.5″… later on I got the correct keywords — that is “change design of lotus 8.5” and got some help in below given link.

“RFIND is not active” in the SDSF

RFind PF5/PF6 is not working in my SDSF

In SDSF  the Repeat find command is not available as the application ID is different and do not share the same keys listing as ISPF….

We have to change the keys list for SDSF (one time setting –of course in one shop)

1. Go to SDSF;ST
2. Select all of any JOB
3. Type ‘keys’ and hit return key
4. On PF5 (or PF6) type IFIND in stead of RFIND
5. Hit PF3 

VOILA… WE are done…!!!

Now WE can repeat find using the same PF5 (or PF6) as we do in ISPF……..

Steve,
SDSF runs under a unique Application ID so the PFkey definitions are separate from ISPF. Enter KEYS when in SDSF to verify the value for PF5.

Hi I found the following statement in the appendix of the sdsf manual … maybe it helps       

If you use the Repeat-Find PF keys under ISPF and they don’t invoke the 
Repeat Find function, the problem may be that the SDSF table library was 
not concatenated correctly with the ISPF table libraries. You may also see 
the ISPF message RFIND NOT ACTIVE to indicate this. The SDSF Repeat-Find key should be defined as IFIND.

some time we need to lock a column from the end user protecting from accidental changes.

scenario:

   A           B 
1 data1      =fun(A1)
2 data2      =fun(A2)
3 data3      =fun(A3)

We want the user to allow key in data in column ‘A’
Function given in column ‘B’ will produce result and user will be able to view the result.
we don’t want the user to select/edit the cells of column ‘B’

steps how to achieve this:
[1] Select the columns (or rows/cells) the user should be able to to TYPE data into.
[2] Format menu / Cells / protection tab
[3] Remove the tick-mark from ‘locked’
[4] Tools menu / protection / protect sheet and apply protection

You will find that you can only type data in the cells that you selected and then removed the ‘locked’ tick-mark from.

This is applicable for cells, columns or rows..

“d” Days
“md” Difference between days in a period; no month and years
“ym” Difference between the months in a period, no days and years
“yd” Difference between the days in a period, no years
Examples
To calculate the number of years between two dates:
=DATEDIF(A1,TODAY(),”y”) & ” Years”

To calculate the number of years and months between two dates:
=DATEDIF(A1,TODAY(),”y”) & ” Years, ” & DATEDIF(A1,TODAY(),”ym”) & ” Months”

To calculate the number of years, months, and days between two dates:
=DATEDIF(A1,TODAY(),”y”) & ” Years, ” & DATEDIF(A1,TODAY(),”ym”) & ” Months, ” & DATEDIF(A1,TODAY(),”md”) & ” Days”

Using the TEXT() function to calculate dates.
You can use the TEXT() to get the number of days or weeks between two dates:
